36 Week Appointment
Babies are still comfortable in utero and there's no sign of them coming out to join us soon. We are scheduled to go into the hosital on June 3rd (next Thursday) to be induced...they may not arrive until June 4th, but at least we know we're close to the end of it!
The NST today was great -- both are reactive and doing well. We didn't do a cervical check because I'm not having any contractions. I've felt really well the past couple of days. Lots of energy and not as sore as I've been for weeks. Babies are moving a lot!

35 Week Appointment
Cervix of Steel! NST went extremely well. Babies are doing wonderfully and are very reactive. We did a GBS test today. BP was normal! Had a discussion with Dr. Perry about birth plan. We're not sure that my cervix will be favorable for an induction on June 3rd, so we're trying to develop Plan A, B & C. Pray for something to happen sooner -- like water breaking -- otherwise we might be heading for a c-section (yuck!).
Dr. Perry did a u/s to check amniotic fluid levels (I'm feeling like an automobile) and they have lots of fluid. Saw Baby Boy's face -- very cute nose!Comments:Add a comment:

Another Trip to L&D - sent home!
Stephen returned home on Thursday night a Canadian citizen! He put on dinner for me around 8PM and around 11PM, I checked my BPs before bed. My diastolic pressure was 113! Yikes!!
So we finished packing "THE BAG" and rushed to L&D in Ann Arbor. They got us in right away and showed us to a very luxurious L&D room -- not the typical icky triage room we've had before. They hooked me up to fetal and uterine monitors, took blood, and did a cervical check (oh god, that hurt!). Babies were doing great, bloodwork came back negative (for the third time) for toxemia or Pre-E, and my cervix was only fingertip dialted with no effacement. My BP was 110/96 when I got to the hospital, but as soon as they rolled me onto my left side, it was 99/60. We were there for about 4 hours and told to go home around 4AM.
But...we had to be back at 8:30 for a PAC check -- amniotic fluid index, another BP check, and another NST. So we took a 2 hour nap and got back on the road back to Ann Arbor. Babies had lots of amniotic fluid, Bp was still low, and they skipped the NST because of all the monitoring from the night before. Dr. Perry came to see us (she was at the hospital on call) and said that she wasn't sure why my pressures were so labile -- but that she wants me on bedrest until the babies are born.
So, I'm now up to two NSTs and blood pressure checks a week. Dr. Perry suspects my swelling combined with a "normal" size BP cuff may be giving me unusually high readings. I'm now onto the Big Mamma BP cuff.
Stephen swears I got myself into this mess by having a bikini wax on Tuesday afternoon.Comments:Add a comment:

34 Week Appointment
Almost had babies today! My BP was 132/100 at the OB's office and Dr. Perry was NOT happy. She was ready to schedule me into Labor and Delivery, but I begged her not to because Stephen was on his way to Burlington to his Canadian Citizen ceremony!
The babies did very well on the NST and I had no contractions, so the OB said I could stay home if I stayed in bed (only up for bathroom and fridge) and I went to the Perinatal Assessment Center (PAC) on Friday for further assessment. I agreed!
34 weeks is just too early!!! I wanted to avoid a long hospital stay and time in the NICU. Hopefully, they will coorperate and my BP will stay down.Comments:Add a comment:

33 Week Appointment
A very non-eventful OB appointment today. Babies did very well on the non stress test and even showed their WWF moves within my belly to the OB. Very reactive! I didn't have any contractions show up on the monitor, which was good. I've been feeling a lot of cramping, like menstrual cramps, but I think it's just uterine irritability.
Last week's ultrasound and non stress test results were not available to my OB, so we didn't have a chance to review them. But Dr. Perry was impressed with the babies' weights and my cervical length. We're still sticking with a June 3 induction date.Comments:Add a comment:
